Jacqui Nelson

Jacqui Nelson

Director

After running away from the circus (quite literally – just ask her yourself!) 18 years ago to pursue her love of travel, Jacqui took over the day-to-day operations as owner/director of Albury Travel in 2006. Why? She loves working with clients to produce truly tailored travel itineraries everyday. For Jacqui, the beauty of travel is in how different, yet how alike, people are the world over – the stories they share and their creativity and individuality. And of course, Jacqui’s one of the best when it comes to helping clients find the joy of travel and making things work.

Favourite destination? Slovenia! It’s as if all of the countries in Europe are packed into one small country (and without the crowds!)

Top tip for travelling? Always be mindful that the places you’re visiting are someone else’s home. Oh, and don’t forget your passport of course!

The perfect travel experience? One that has the right balance of great people, amazing landscapes, incredible animals, extraordinary stories – and business class flights!

Kelli Kirk

Kelli Kirk

Travel Consultant

Lucky enough to travel at a young age with her family, Kelli got a serious case of the travel bug early on. With a number of journeys under her belt, Kelli’s been sharing her expertise in travel for more than 15 years. While she’s visited some pretty amazing countries along the way, it’s Cancun, Mexico that remains top of the list on her favourite travel destinations.

Dream destination? Hawaii for the surf, sun and culture.

What’s the best trip you’ve ever planned for a client? Honeymooners to the USA and Cancun Mexico – I had been to all the cities they visited so not only did it bring back fond memories of my trip, but I was able to provide a real insight and understanding of the destination.

Why did you decide to work in travel? I was lucky enough to travel at a young age with my family and got the travel bug and, in my 15 plus years as a consultant, I have seen some amazing countries. But the best part is seeing the excitement on my clients’ faces as they plan their trip of a lifetime.

Ben Lawrence

Ben Lawrence

Travel Consultant

Ben’s been working in travel for more than 4 years. During which time he’s travelled to Tanzania, cruised his way from Budapest to Amsterdam, explored Australia and visited Auckland, Singapore, Malaysia and Phuket. Oh, and if you’re interested in visiting Bali, Ben’s your man to talk to! Not only has he visited Bali 8 times, but he’s also toured the whole island by scooter!

Favourite destination? Tanzania! Not only is Tanzania one of the most amazing scenic places to visit, it’s also the most unique. Being so close to the animals and the sheer volume is absolutely fantastic!

Top tip for travelling? Book early and take advantage of stopovers where possible – it’s like a cheap holiday and a chance to explore somewhere completely different. And when in Paris – climb the Arc de Triomph to get amazing views of the city, Champs Elysees and the Eiffel Tower – it’s cheaper and has smaller queues.

The biggest problem you’ve solved for a client (here or overseas)? A client had a fall while completing a day tour in San Francisco that required a hospital visit. They were due (and unable) to fly the next day so I rearranged flights and extended existing hotel accommodation for his parents while they were waiting for the hospital arrangements. The clients really appreciated having someone to liaise with the insurance company on their behalf and arrange all their onward travel or return journey without worry.

Jenny Shanahan

Jenny Shanahan

Travel Consultant

While Jenny’s career in travel started in 2013, travel itself has always appealed to her. She loves uncovering new destinations and deals and being able to offer clients the most extensive range of touring experiences. A keen organiser, Jenny loves planning every little detail of journeys – from itineraries and flights to accommodation and day trips, she aims to make clients’ travel as seamless as possible.

Favourite destination? Paris is always special – the city of lights and love! I particularly enjoy the architecture and sight-seeing in this beautiful city. It’s always full of surprises and delights.

Top tip for travelling? My top tip is to be organised and to travel light. It’s not much fun to spend the day trying to find where you are going to sleep that night, it’s much more enjoyable to have time to explore a new place, to see the attractions and enjoy the whole experience.

The perfect travel experience? It’s always good to combine sight-seeing with some time for relaxation to get different experiences and to ensure you gain the most out of a trip. Touring provides a great way of seeing as much as possible in a given time frame. To then combine this with a cruise or a few days beachside provides a relaxing break and ensures you arrive back home refreshed.

Rebecca Singe

Rebecca Singe

Travel Consultant

Rebecca has been working in travel for more than 12 months now. While her current favourite destination is Disneyland, Los Angeles, Bec has major plans in the works to see as many destinations as she can in the next 10 years. Her favourite part of working in travel is the true joy she’s able to share with clients while planning their next holiday (and the inspiration she finds for her own adventures).

Top tip for travelling? Give a friend/family member your itinerary before you depart, and try to be organised before you leave so you aren’t planning things as you get to your destination. You don’t want to waste too many days/hours making a decision on something when you could have it sorted before you arrive. And if you can afford a holiday, you can afford travel insurance!

Dream destination? While the answer to this question changes every week, right now it’s the North and South Islands of New Zealand.

What’s the best trip you’ve ever planned for a client? Fitting a two week itinerary into a clients’ 5 day trip to New Zealand – it was challenging, but a great feeling when the booking was finalised and the client was happy!

Tracey Jeffries

Tracey Jeffries

Travel Consultant

Tracey is relatively new to her role as a travel agent, having started this year after completing her travel certificate in 2015. Not only is Tracey an avid traveller herself, but she also lives by the motto “travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer”. That, along with the joy she gets seeing the excitement on clients’ faces as they plan and book upcoming travel, has been the driving inspiration behind her move into a career in travel.

Favourite destination? The Pacific Islands!

Top tip for travelling? Take the time to stop & enjoy you’re surroundings – the smells, the colours and the sounds. And learn from those who live in the country you’re visiting – people who can truly enrich your travels.

Dream destination? Japan for its diversity. From the culture and traditions to the latest technology, Japan is definitely top of my wish list.

My travel agent was great – she made what seemed to be a very complex task look easy. All my questions were answered in detail!
